Anonymous declares war on United States

leave a comment »

“Our time for democracy is here. Our time for real change is here. This is America’s time, to have its own revolution. Therefore, Anonymous has decided to openly declare war on the United States government. This is a call to arms. We call upon the Citizens of the United States to stand beside us in overthrowing this corrupted body and call upon a new era. Our allegiance is to the American people, because they are us, and we are them.”

Most websites don’t know how they were hacked

leave a comment »

A worrying report from Commtouch-StopBadware shows that many websites are told they are hacked by outside sources and then don’t know how it happened.  Of course this only leaves them vulnerable to the next hack.  Might want to invest in some pentesting and start taking this stuff seriously.

A match made in Hades.  Probably inevitable though as they plan to publish emails stolen from Stratfor – 5 Million of them.

Corporations still not heeding cybersecurity warnings

leave a comment »

According to Marketwatch, corporate executives and boards are still not paying attention to the risks of a cybersecurity breach.  This seems to be pretty common in the world of risk – it will always happen to the other guy, not me.  That kind of thinking is allowing breaches to continue and gives comfort to “you-know-who”.  I guess it hasn’t reached critical mass yet.
